Before you order.
Will it work on my sofa?
If the fabric is woven, microfibre, canvas, linen or a low-pile weave, yes. Deep shag and loose open knits are the two it struggles with, and smooth leather does not need it at all.
Does it scratch leather or wood?
Do not use it on either. It is built to work into fabric, which is exactly what you do not want against a finished surface.
How long does one last?
The microfibre face is the wear part. With weekly use most people replace it every two to three years, and buy nothing in between.
Can I machine wash it?
Cold, in a laundry bag, no fabric softener, air-dry only. Softener coats the fibres and kills the grip. Hand-rinsing under warm water is faster and works better.
Does it work on human hair and lint?
Yes. Pet undercoat is the harder problem; anything looser comes off more easily.
Do I need to press hard?
No. Medium pressure, one direction. Pressing harder drives hair deeper into the weave and makes the job worse.
